Auto West Group and its Aberdeen Centre mall location exposed both the brand and its products to a large, predominantly asian market in Richmond. Auto West Group showed its support of Asian traditions by using their storefront as a highly visible sign wishing the mall traffic a “Happy Chinese New Year”. The lunar calendar-based, Chinese New Year happens to be one of the key pinnacle holidays of the Chinese culture.

Blitzgear came up with a storefront design that allowed visitors to be greeted “Happy New Year” by the Auto West Group. Research into Chinese traditions, patterns as well as a bit of architecture exposed us to a plethora of Chinese artistic style. The concept was simple, “Bring Chinese New Year to Aberdeen”. Chinese ceremonial gates were placed on both of the entrances’ double doors while the windows displayed the “Fu” character upside down. The “Fu” character means fortune and traditionally, people would display this character upside down to signify that fortune is arriving. Finally, A large english “Happy Chinese New Year” is placed on the windows to wish everyone a festive and happy lunar new year.
