Kumho Tire came to Blitzgear with a Porsche 911 GT3 looking to create a new demonstration car to showcase its ECSTA line of high performance tires.
The concept was to take an ongoing magazine advertisement, that Kumho was already running, to the next level. The advertisement was called “Boosted” and featured an audio mixing console with the sliders set to the shape of a car.
After several concepts were sketched, one really stood out. Still playing on the professional audio theme, Blitzgear decided to simulate a digital VU meter reading, by using blocks of colour. After a few tweaks were made to create a final design, the graphics were produced and applied onto the Porsche. Three colours of metallic vinyl were used to make the image stand out from the white exterior of the car.
