BRANDING & CORPORATE ID
Richard Findlay Landscape Architects is a Vancouver based architecture firm specializing in community and water parks. As an established architect and entrepreneur, Richard’s architectural projects range from private home gardens to government parks and buildings. His diverse portfolio and clientele has solidified RFLA as a successful architect group. Still, there was one thing missing: a brand.
With much research, exploration and brainstorming, our designers created a few very interesting concepts: Technical Nature, Master Plan and Open Doors. Through visiting several public-gathering places, being a user of a designed landscape allowed us to take a step back and discover the opportunities that a Landscape Architect presents through one of his works. The Open Doors concept sparks the question “How do you get outside?” The natural environment is a Landscape Architect’s canvas—through an open door, a well-designed landscape allows one the possibilities of seamlessly doing whatever it is he or she needs and wants to do. This concept translated well with Richard and was impressed that our designers were able to make this connection and Open Doors became the underlying theme across the branding project.
WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
With the Richard Findlay Landscape Architects branding set in place and its brand positioned, RFLA needed a medium to showcase the vast and diverse range of projects in the public and private sectors. A website was designed to launch the company’s fresh branding and identity while focusing on RFLA’s strong portfolio.
The resulting website utilizes a full-screen scrolling background that showcases photographs of RFLA’s work. Upon visiting the site, the audience is greeted by the fresh identity and work—allowing a chance to take a breath and enjoy RFLA’s pieces through an interactive gallery.
